Library Groundbreaking
Tuesday, May 18, 2010. For a brief moment Tuesday, the city council didn’t have budget cuts to discuss. Instead, before their meeting, groundbreaking ceremonies were held at the Main LIbrary next to City Hall.
Officially, library expansion is now underway. Construction is expected to take about a year and it will add 6,000 square feet to the facility. New features include a new community room, a kitchen and coffee area, storage facilities and more.
The library will remain open as the project moves forward, though many areas may be affected on a short term basis. You can track construction progress on the library’s web site.
