The first year, 2010, my son kept trying to get out of the pool. I believe it was Thomas who put my son on his back, would work with the other students, give my son his turn, then put him on his back again. He never gave him a chance to get out of the pool. After 3 days, my son would walk up to Thomas, hold his hand and jump in with him.

I enrolled my kids in all six weeks in 2011 and it was great. My kids made fantastic progress. We moved to Texas in early 2012, but will be back in Orange County for most of the summer and I am looking forward to having my kids back in the program again.

This man hopefully is too old to "help" other towns with their law enforcement. So much money after so much incompetency! We are damn fools and this is the proof!

Let's get legitimate representation on the city council so that we can have council actions in the best interests of the city. All this controversy will disappear when a certain three members of the council disappear after the recall election. We should limit our expectations on what the current council will do and complete the steps necessary to have a truly representative council.

Changing the pocket of an old coat does not constitute having a new coat. While the new police chief is talking about all the things that he did when this event occurred, it doesn't change the fact that there were six police officers involved in this terrible killing. Four of those involved are still part of his team. Evidence has been withheld from the public. City officials are suspected to be a part of the cover up to the point that three of them are going to be recalled. No rational person is going to believe that the belated charging of two police officers has corrected the problem. Does everyone remember that nothing happened until the townspeople turned out in numbers demanding that action be taken. Clean your department up Mr. New Chief and show us that you have! We have heard this line of ...uh...reasoning before. Give your fellow citizens some evidence that things are different, not just words!

This is a good recap of the Thomas-related issue. Good job capturing the flavor of the meeting. It's obviously the most heated and emotional issue in the city right now, but I hope Fullerton Stories also stays on top of the city towing contract and the outdoor patio issues. AT the moment, the city is considering charging far more for patio space than cities like Pasadena and Santa Monica do. That doesn't seem fair (although I do assistant manage a bar downtown, so I have some bias). But it's an issue that needs some balanced reporting on. And the tow truck thing looks like a murky mess. If the police department has been hassling tow truck companies that come into Fullerton, that's some bad mojo...
